At midnight when Tom and I got off work, I was far too tired to go to a bar and hit on this absolutely gorgeous girl I played pool with last night again. Now it's 5:30am and I'm still up. WTF? Seriously, WTF? me?
Insomnia leads to web browsing, web browsing lead to posting links and tidbits of news...
"ADV will be running the Evangelion: Girlfriend of Steel manga (retitled to Evangelion: Angelic Days in Newtype magazine " (from Pata) I prefer the original title. Neither really make much sense but at least "Girlfriend of Steel" is some quality Engrish.
Dragonhead looks fucking awesome (Lien gave it a big rave review last year but only knew the name in Mandarin so I couldn't find out what the series was). Scanlators say Tokyopop licensed it, so hopefully we'll see it in print here sometime soon.
My other most desired manga 20th Century Boys has been delayed at the creator's request. 2CB is his follow up series to Monster, another series that Lien recommended. He wants Monster fully in print before releasing 2CB, a motivation which I can both understand and loathe. The possible upside to this is that Viz might publish Monster at a somewhat faster pace then their standard "Glacial" publishing schedule (how long have they been reprinting Ranma now and still aren't done?). Perhaps they'll push themselves and move to "Sluggish" or even (dare we hope?) "tortoise-esque."
BTW: About two weeks behind on LJ. If today's as slow at work as yesterday was, I'll be caught up soon, however. Oh, wait, I need to do seven phone hooks with only the trainee who's been there a week (exactly) to run the PBX station while I do them. Yes, tomorrow will be fun. At least I know where Pool Girl will be drinking after work. (She did tell me her name, but it was weird and I was really drunk and she was flashing what must be just about the greatest cleavage ever so I'm not real solid on what it was. Crystalese or something. Crystalline? I wonder if I can get away with addressing her as Krys.)
Insomnia, comics, work, obsession with women I barely know... This post hits all the high points of my life, folks! If you're ever wondering what I did over the last week, just re-read this post. The details might change, but otherwise this a timeless summary of my life since Febuary.
